CHRISTOPHER OAR
Sculpture & Painting
Christopher Oar's work reflects the influence of his surroundings as captured through nature and its pure essence of
simplicity in an indigenous environment. In opposition to nature, and equally as influential unveiled directly through his
work is derived from a deep rooted appreciation I possess of the proportionality and amplitude that shines through in industrial
architecture. The design and creation process of channeling inspiration from these two extreme idealizations tend to nurture the
reoccurring and prominent themes of balance and harmony in his work. Harmony, to him, is seen in the purity of nature’s intrinsic forms.
Balance is transparently represented in the symmetrical supportiveness of free-standing structural frameworks. The manifestation of the
two into abstract form, whether simplistic or complex in theory, on display for interpretation and reinterpretation as the piece ages inspires his creative initiative and his artistic ambition.
