INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR ENTRY
This show will be held in conjunction with the
MOP (Month of Photography Denver)
which was founded by Mark Sink a couple years ago.
MOP - Month of Photography Denver is a celebration of fine art photography through
collaborative public events throughout Denver for the month of March 2011.
We encourage artists to be wild, uncontrolled, different, luminous, beautiful,
sparkling, in the flow. Present an idea, a concept. Make us think; make us laugh.
Experimental photography, and photography-based processes
are the themes of this call.
Brief artist statement or describtion of concept is appreciated.
Each artist will have equal opportunity regardless of past exhibitions.
We do not require a bio or resume.

All works must be original and entrant must be the sole owner of the copyright of such.
JURORS
Petra Sertic
Petra Sertic joined the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art as Associate Curator in March 2010.
As an independent curator based in Denver, Colorado, she has curated exhibitions for private and public
organizations, including the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver and Museo de las Americas.
She was previously Executive Assistant to the Director & Curatorial Assistant at MCA Denver and Volunteer Coordinator at
Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art.
Her interests in art range from Modern to Contemporary—with a soft spot for the art of the late 20th century and the art of Colorado. She holds an MA in Art History and Museum Studies from the University of Denver and has a background in non-profit development work and special events organization.
Richard Peterson
Lifelong photographer Richard Peterson is the former curator and owner of the notorious alternative Pink & Pearl Gallery in San Diego,
plus he is a museum and fine-art photographer widely published and exhibited, and creator of a
famous body of street-art style Punk photography from the 1970s.
He served as Aerial Photographer for a San Francisco City Lights associated 'zine called Search & Destroy,
and worked with bands such as Talking Heads, Blondie, Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop, Patty Smith.
He currently runs the Heads of Hyda photography collective, a group of iconoclastic individuals who push the boundaries of photography.
Richard also works with the estate of legendary California artist Bruce Conner, creating edition prints for museums around the world.
Mark Sink
Mark Sink, art consultant, curator, and teacher, has been
creating fine art photography since 1978. His personal works are in
numerous museum collections and have been exhibited and purchased by major institutions internationally.
As a photographer he has worked with and documented noted artist's lives such as Andy Warhol and Jean
Michel Basquiat and Rene Ricard. Mark Sink is also a founder of the Denver Salon, co-founder of The Sight, and former
interim director of Museum of Contemporary Art Denver.
Currently Mark represents and curates local and international cutting-edge fine art photography.
WORK ELIGIBILITY
artwork not bigger than: 1200 sq. inches (e.g., 30”x40”=1200sq. in, 20”x50”=1000sq. in.,
or 30”x35”=1050sq.in.). These dimensions do not include the frame.
Artwork submitted must be created within the last 2 years. Artwork to be considered
and possibly accepted should and must be well constructed. The work must withstand the rigors of being handled and moved frequently.
Fragile work will not be accepted. All framed pieces require plexi-glass. Work must be suitable for hanging.
IMAGE SUBMISSION
Please submit images (72dpi) approx. 1920 pixel x 1920 pixel (variable - depending on the proportions).
This size allows all important detail to be seen.
THE SHOW, AWARDS, PUBLICATION
Artwork accepted into the show will be exhibited in a group show at Hinterland
from March 26-April 29, 2011. Opening Reception will be on March 25, 2011 from 6-11pm.
Artists accepted will also be featured on our website.
A catalogue will be published and available at Blurb.
A Juror's Choice Award and a People's Choice Award will be given
Prizes for the Juror's Choice Award
- 1st will be honored with $ 100.- and a copy of the catalogue of the show
- 2nd will get $50.- and a copy of the catalogue
- 3rd will get a copy of the catalogue
(if we surpass our minimum number of submissions, we will raise cash awards)
Prize for the People's Choice Award:
- copy of the catalogue of the show

SUBMISSION DEADLINE
All entries must be received by midnight February 15, 2011 to be considered.
ACCEPTED ARTISTS
Those accepted into the show will be notified by middle of February and will be posted on our website.
ACCEPTED WORK
Artist also agrees to be responsible for the cost associated with shipping to the gallery and returning their submission.
Please add cheque with right amount for return shipping. Artist is also welcome to donate piece to the gallery.
SALES
Payment for artwork sold will be collected by Hinterland.
Hinterland will receive 25% commission. Your payment less the 25% commission will be
rebated to your address within 45 days of
the close of the show. Art need not be for sale.
Upon entering work into this exhibition, the artist agrees to these terms of sale and entry form.
Hinterland will deliver artwork if sold for residents in Denver.
Shipping costs for sales to buyers outside of Denver will be on the side of the artist.
LIABILITY
Although the utmost care will be taken in handling all works of art,
accepted artists agree to release Hinterland from all liability with respect to loss or damages or theft,
vandalism or accident to the artists’
CDs and/or works of art. Insurance is the Artists’ responsibility.
REPRODUCTION OF ART
Accecpted art may be photographed for publicity.
